Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki left Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies with 11 minutes left in the second quarter with lower back tightness and did not return to the game. ""He felt something in warmups and tried to play," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. "He clearly wasn't moving the way he needed to be moving, so we pulled the plug." Carlisle added that Nowitzki will get treatment and we'll see how he feels on Friday. Nowitzki missed his lone shot from the floor in his 10 minutes of action.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry had been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Hawks early with a foot injury, however he made an appearance five seconds remaining and the Warriors needing a basket. They used him solely as a distraction in the play, as he didn’t even touch the ball, and the Warriors went on to win 85-82.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Sixers coach Doug Collins said center Spencer Hawes (Achilles' tendon) is still a couple of weeks away, hopeful to return on March 14.

The team had been holding out hope that Nene would be able to return once the All-Star break passed, but the injury continues to bother Nene. During the break, Karl told reporters that he’s not sure Nene will be able to get back to being a 35-minute per game guy for the rest of the year.

The Hornets strangely declined to give any details about Gordon's injury, so the shooting guard cleared the air Tuesday. After bumping knees with Grant Hill on Opening Night, Gordon struggled with fluid buildup and needed a drain often. Eventually, doctors recommended surgery so he had an arthroscopic procedure to remove cartilage debris from his right knee. Gordon is expected to miss at least six weeks and considering the Hornets' woeful record, his season is in some jeopardy.
