Re: NBA Injuries
Lakers center Andrew Bynum left Sunday’s game against the Warriors after just eight minutes, after stepping on a teammate’s foot while going for a rebound. Bynum left for the locker room, where he was diagnosed with a moderate left ankle sprain. X-rays came back negative, and he will be re-evaluated on Monday.
Grizzlies guard Mike Conley was held out of Saturday night's contest against the Bucks due to an ankle injury. Conley, who has been dealing with his injury over the past few weeks, re-aggravated his injury against the Rockets on Friday night. Conley's ankle is still giving him problems and there is no official timetable for his return.
An MRI taken on Saturday confirmed that forward Corey Maggette has a "mild" right Achilles strain, according to the team's official website. Coach Paul Silas told reporters reporters following Charlotte's 99-88 loss to the Nuggets on Friday that Maggette will miss at least a week with his injury.
Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic traveled with the team on Sunday for their road trip that begins in Portland, however he will not be able to go against the Trail Blazers, as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. He tested the ankle out on Sunday, however, to see if he will be able to play on Monday in Sacramento.
The Hornets were without forward Carl Landry again on Sunday against the Suns, and coach Monty Williams was none too pleased with Landry's unwillingness to play through an ankle injury following his return from a knee sprain. “I’d like to call it a few things. But I’ll call it a game-time decision and we’ll go from there," he said prior to the game. “I’m not going to hide it any more. We got to get the right people here.”
