ottima situazione salariale anche in prospettiva con Horford e Lou firmati alle giuste cifre... vediamo a quanto rifirmano Jeff Teague che sta avendo un'ottima stagione...

Sinceramente mi stanno sorprendendo non poco, quest'anno mi aspettavo una stagione molto più dimessa da parte degli Hawks... anzi a dirla tutta pensavo sarebbe stato il nuovo gulag NBA dopo la partenza di JJ e la cessione di Smith che pareva nell'aria.
Stanno lavorando bene e il roster è interessante... sono scettico rispetto all'idea che ad Atlanta abbiano un piano serio per le stagioni future, però c'è sicuramente una base interessante su cui lavorare.

According to a source, Smith was kicked out of practice Tuesday. #ATLHawks

Hawks President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Danny Ferry today announced that the team has suspended forward Josh Smith for one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for conduct detrimental to the team.
Smith, currently in his ninth season with the Hawks, is averaging team highs in scoring (16.5 points) and blocked shots (2.3) while adding 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 34.8 minutes per game in 35 games (all starts).
“Josh and I discussed the issue and he understood and accepted this course of action. We are confident that he will respond positively, learn from this experience and come back with a renewed sense of purpose to the team moving forward,” Ferry said.
The 6-foot-9 forward will serve his suspension tonight against the Brooklyn Nets.
STATEMENT FROM JOSH SMITH
“Clearly I am competitive and was frustrated by our recent losses. I understand and respect the team’s actions and just want to get back on the court to do whatever is necessary to help my teammates. I apologize for letting them down and apologize to our fans for not being available for tonight’s game.”

Josh Smith believes he deserves a maximum-level extension.

“I feel like I’m a max player,” Smith said. “I feel I bring a lot to the table. I have a lot of versatility. For what I do and what I give this ball club, I feel like I’m worth it.”

In the summer of 2010 the Hawks signed Joe Johnson to a six-year, $124 million contract. Johnson then had his worst season since joining the team in 2005.

The Hawks will be able to offer Smith a five-year deal worth about $94 million.

Smith again: “There shouldn’t be any hesitation. I’m Josh Smith, I’m not anybody else. I ‘m not Michael Jordan, I’m not LeBron James, I’m not Brook Lopez. I’m Josh Smith. You can’t look at what might’ve happened with another person. Let’s say Joe. You can’t say, ‘I’m skeptical of giving another person that’ because of whatever they feel like happened."

Gran bel giocatore, però non credo che gli diano il massimo ad Atlanta... in generale non penso che nessuno, anche altrove, sia dell'idea di firmarlo a quelle cifre.
